How would crating benefit my dog/puppy? |
|
Thursday, 10 May 2007 |
When you adopt a new puppy or dog, your new pet won't know the rules of the household right away. Puppies naturally want to chew on things, and often don't know to use the bathroom outside, not inside. Some uninformed people may think that putting a dog in a cage or crate is cruel. But crating a dog is as much for his benefit as it is for yours. It will provide him his own space from the rest of the family should he need to get away from it all. Children should never be allowed to play on or around the crate. Since he won't go to the bathroom in his living quarters, he will keep out of trouble and keep you on his good side. And he won't be allowed to chew anything that is not in his crate. Only when he is under your supervision will he be able to get himself into trouble when you can gently correct him. |

We need foster homes desperately! We can only save as many animals as we have temporary homes for, so if you can be a temporary home for an animal on the way to its forever home, we'd love your help! It is a great way to really make a difference! |
